Maxxis High rollers

These tires have been around for a while and are still one of the most popular race tires around. The tires are best suited to those damp greasy days that we get lots of up here in bonny Scotland. The spaced out knob design lowers rolling resistance and gives you the ultimate grip in the corners. The tires I have for testing are the cheaper Maxxpro 60a with 2ply sidewalls which helps stop pinch flats but are still the same high quality as the supertackeys.

'The spaced out knob design'

I found the high rollers good for Fort William it was as wet as it could have been and I didn’t lose traction on the soft mucky ground, but on the hard pack straights they lost traction on the corners and riding on tarmac with these is a big no no! They wear down really, really quickly and if you were on the road most days you go through a set of these in a week. JOE

Verdict: Good tires but not for the tarmac.
